My blog will focus on sales, listings, emerging trends and news you can use.

The Real Estate market on the Shore had been pretty flat this past fall and then when January 2007 rolled around things quickly picked up. Buyers have been showing up and writing offers with us regularly.

I am excited by the activity we have experienced and .my sales have picked up considerably. This link gives you a snap shot of what has gone under contract recently: http://www.NavicaMLS.net/listings/356/ES161881660B.htm I have also closed on a number of properties and this link gives you details of those as well http://www.NavicaMLS.net/listings/356/ES203341660C.htm

There is an Emerging trend that I feel is important to the way business is conducted here on the Shore. Buyers are asking about what is available to them. Amenities like golf courses, marinas, restaurants and the theater are part of any conversation. When I started in real estate I would routinely hear of folks that came and settled on the Shore not for what is here but for what is not here. This has changed now. Folks seek out amenities that did not exist just a few short years ago. In fact if you missed the Arts Enter play “Little Piece of Eden” its coming again in July. Get your tickets now, you will not regret it.

News you can use: Zoning is the hot button in Northampton right now and if you have not kept up with the changes that the supervisors are proposing I suggest you check out Northampton County’s web site at http://www.co.northampton.va.us/

I will work hard to make it happen for all my listings this spring and summer and look forward to making many new friends with buyers and new sellers as the year progresses. Thanks for logging on, feel free to leave me a comment….

Spring Sales are heating up, Fishing season is right around the corner
March 18th, 2007 11:18 PM

The weather is warming up and sales are picking up. We put several lots under contract this past week. 1 acre lots listed for $47,000 each.  Buyer plans to build homes and sell them on the open market.  Listings continue to come in and folks are confident that Spring will turn things around.

The next open house for agents is coming up on the 29th of March from 11 to 2.  Lunch is provided...Feel free to bring a customer.  Home is located just outside of Cape Charles on Hermitage Drive.  Just follow the signs....Call the office if you need more information.

Garden Week is coming up the 28 and 29th of April and I have scheduled an open house on the 28th at The Hermitage as well.  This  great waterfront historic home located on Kings Creek just outside Cape Charles is one of a kind.   For a free color brochure drop me an email.

Looking for farm property, I have several new offerings that I am working on in Northampton County.  Call me for details

Crab season opened on the 17th of March and plenty of folks are giving it a try.  Every season brings new hope and new pots in the water.  Time will tell....Fishing is picking up everyday.  Plenty of striped bass known as rock available in the bay although the season is out.  I picked up 300 pounds of menhaden in my nets to use as bait in my crab pots.  If you are on the Shore and want to see what its like to crab as the sun comes up give me a call.  I go out most mornings around 6:30 and am back before 8 leaving plenty of time to make it to work at 9.
